Wild Rover to Divide and Conquer with Channel 4

Wild Rover Productions have been commissioned by Channel 4 to produce a new daytime quiz show pilot. “Divide & Conquer” is a list–‐based quiz show, which sees teams compete for a chance of winning up to £10,000. “Divide & Conquer” was created by Wild Rover’s Paddy McKenna, and in a first for the company, was pitched digitally with a specially created i Pad app. Olly Nash is producing the pilot and Wild Rover’s Head of Development Sean Doyle and Managing Director Phil Morrow are Executive Producers. Wild Rover MD Phil Morrow said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Channel 4 on this exciting new quiz show. Divide & Conquer is a unique format that has the potential to be huge success in the UK as well as further afield. ”Wild Rover are also currently co ‐producing the second series of “Dara O Briain :School of Hard Sums” for Dave with Fuji TV, and are piloting a new Saturday night quiz show for BBC One with STV.

Wild Rover Bags Doyle as Head of Development

Wild Rover Productions has made a high level addition to its development team. Sean Doyle, previously of Zoogon Productions, has taken on the newly created role of Head of Development.

Sean began his career in Belfast, before working in London with Endemol and ITV on a wide range of shows including ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’, ‘The Match’ and ‘Loose Women’. He returned to Northern Ireland in 2008 and ran emerging indie, Zoogon, where he was responsible for their slate of programming in Ireland.

MD Phil Morrow said, “Sean is a perfect fit for the company. He’ll run our development department and work in partnership with the senior exec team behind Secret Fortune and Take the Money and Run“.

Sean added, “I’m delighted to be heading up development at Wild Rover. It feels like the natural home for my ideas and ambition and I am really looking forward to this new challenge.”

ABC Take the Money and Run

US network ABC have ordered a six part series of original Wild Rover reality format “Take the Money and Run”.

The US version is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Bertram Van Munster – and is currently filming in secret locations across the United States.

Variety Magazine says:

“ABC will launch unscripted series “Take the Money and Run,” exec produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Bertram van Munster, on August 2nd.

Somewhat akin to van Munster’s CBS reality hit “The Amazing Race,” the series — greenlit last spring with the title “Catch Me” — features a competition between two-person teams in a citywide cat-and-mouse game, with a grand prize of $100,000 awaiting the champion. One twist is that common folk will try to outwit real-life law enforcement pros.

Elise Doganieri (“Amazing Race”), Jonathan Littman (“Chase”) and Philip Morrow are also exec producing “Take the Money and Run,” which has a six-episode order.”
